The outcome within a generation for this environmental quality objective should include the following:

  • Sweden will work to ensure that concentrations of chlorine, bromine and other ozone-depleting substances in the stratosphere do not exceed natural levels.
  • The use of ozone-depleting substances in Sweden will be phased out within one generation.

    • Will the objective be achieved?

The Environmental Objectives Council’s assessment is that the objective A Protective Ozone Layer can be achieved by 2020. The trend in the state of the environment is positive.

    • Interim targets

The interim targets flesh out the environmental quality objectives by describing the situation in a given year.
